Would you believe that this young lady who just turned 18, and has been somewhat of an icon to our young kids, was caught smoking a stimulant Mexican herb called Salia.  Even if this herb is, what I have read, an “approved drug” there are still some effects similar to those drugs that are not approved.

Now who might this young lady be, none other than Hannah Montana, also known as Miley Cyrus.  She was originally named Destiny Hope because her parents believed she would accomplish great things.  However, she gained the nickname “Miley” because she kept smiling as a youngster.

Miley was born on November 23, 1992, to country singer Billy Ray Cyrus and Leticia Cyrus.  She has two elder half brothers, one  of them being the vocalist and guitarist of an electronics rock band,  and an elder half sister.  She also has a younger sister (who is also an actress), and a younger hrother.

It is a big letdown for the kids that have followed her every move, and for the parents that have regarded her as a good example for their kids.  I wonder if the issue of smoking this drug will eventually decrease her popularity.  Nonetheless, it would be encouraging to see Hannah Montana make a turnaround to keep the image that she has so successfully gained.
